OUR MISSION

Coming from first-hand observation, education inequality is a hard reality. The urban poor are often being overlooked as there is an underlying assumption that they are able to keep themselves afloat in the city. More often than not, children that grew up in underprivileged families struggle with basic language reading and writing abilities, as well as other subjects. This issue comes from a myriad of reasons that ultimately stems from poverty.

This is why we strive to bridge the educational gap of the urban poor, as well as strengthen communities through educational programmes. No child should be deprived of education opportunities, and every community should have equal chances in social upliftment.

Design thinking

We believe the first point of social projects must come from empathy - By identifying and understanding problems directly with the local community, we get to devise and revise our programmes based on their feedback and suggestions.

Participatory decision-making

We believe that a bottom-up approach is vital in ensuring success for our programmes. Our volunteers are encouraged to actively provide feedback and suggestions based on their first-hand experience working with the children.

Decentralization

We entrust our volunteers with the decision to carry out the best course of action during class. Also, rather than just us striving to build communities, we hope to assist and inspire other people and organisations to initiate community social projects.
